Invest TCI Excels at the 2nd Caribbean Investment Forum in Nassau, Bahamas

Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands, October 31st, 2023 – Invest Turks and Caicos Agency (Invest TCI) proudly participated in the second edition of the Caribbean Investment Forum (CIF) held in Nassau, Bahamas, from October 23rd to 25th, 2023. Hosted by the Caribbean Export Development Agency (Caribbean Export) and its partners, CIF 2023 proved to be an incredible platform for global leaders from both the public and private sectors to explore investment opportunities in the Caribbean, foster connections with regional innovators, entrepreneurs, and business owners while embracing the theme, “A Bold New Caribbean.”

The event attracted over 500 delegates from 40 countries, creating a vibrant cross-section of individuals keen on fostering growth and development in the Caribbean. The Invest TCI team actively participated in the dynamic program, making significant contributions to the event’s success.

Among the key highlights of CIF 2023 were Investment Villages, illuminating case studies, thrilling pitch competitions, and an engaging exhibition hall. The event offered a comprehensive view of the region’s potential and provided a unique opportunity for networking and partnership building.

Distinguished leaders, including The Rt. Hon. Philip Davis K.C., Prime Minister of The Commonwealth of The Bahamas and Minister of Finance, and the Hon. I. Chester Cooper, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investments & Aviation, shared their insights on pivotal sectors such as agriculture technology, renewable energy, digital business, logistics, and transport. 

Her Excellency Marianne Van Steen, the European Union’s Ambassador to The Bahamas, Belize, Jamaica, The Cayman Islands, and Turks and Caicos Islands, along with representatives from the CARICOM Secretariat, the Caribbean Development Bank, and international organizations, shared their insights into the region’s potential and the opportunities for investment.

Invest TCI was honored to co-sponsor ‘Survival of the Pitchest,’ a Caribbean early-stage pitch competition organized by Draper Startup House, which took place on October 24th, 2023. The event’s highlight was the participation of Invest TCI’s MSME recipient Cherline Duval, Owner of Aunty Nanns, who showcased her entrepreneurial talent in the pitch competition. Additionally, several other local MSMEs, including Island Organics – Arlene Hall, TCI Mushrooms – Roydoya Alleyne, and local handbag manufacturer, Willique – Anya Pratt, exhibited their products with vibrant displays. These exhibitors expressed their satisfaction with the event, noting that they successfully networked and established valuable connections to expand their businesses.

Invest TCI’s CEO, Angela Musgrove, commented on the Agency’s participation, saying, “CIF 2023 was an exceptional opportunity to showcase the investment potential of the Turks and Caicos Islands.
